HAVOC
by Jeff Sampson
Emily Webb thought life would return to normal after the death of the man who attacked her and her fellow "Deviants." Or as normal as it could be, after discovering that she has nighttime superpowers . . . and she’s a werewolf. But when Emily awakes one night to find an otherworldy Shadowman watching her, she knows the danger has only just begun.
So Emily and her pack-mates set out to find the people who made them what they are, and why. But as they get closer to the truth, they realize they aren’t the only ones in town with special powers: The most popular girls in school might just have a secret of their own–and they might just have it out for Emily.
With shadowy beings stalking them, a mysterious company doing all it can to keep the truth hidden, and the secrecy of her new identity in jeopardy, life threatens to spiral out of control for Emily. Soon these dangers will come together in one terrifying confrontation that may force her to make the toughest choice of her life . . . so far.

A good plot, lovely writing, and kick-butt MCs.
ReplyDeleteI look for something paranormal, a nice background, and sometimes a historical aspect... (yes, I'm picky)
ReplyDeleteI look for a good plot and smooth writing. :)
ReplyDeleteIn a book I look for characters that I can really care about and a good plot.
ReplyDeleteThe emotion and chemistry between characters.

I've got to have romance (or the promise of romance) and a plot that keeps me flipping the pages.
ReplyDeleteI look for action and interesting, smart and likeable characters.
ReplyDeleteThe setting is actually very important to me. I love historical fiction or contemporary fiction in a place like a boarding school.
ReplyDeleteI really like characters that I can relate to, and a story that I can immerse myself in. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteIt has to have great characters and story line. I also don't like when the good characters die. :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for this great giveaway!

Characters that act like real people. Nothing worse than a character doing crazy things for no reason. Sherlock Holmes may be able to smell a certain type of dirt a mile a way, but not a teenage amateur slueth. :)
ReplyDeleteI look for books that make one think looooong after the book has been closed and returned to it's shelf. Books that you just can't get out of your head. Maybe a realistic character, maybe a plot that just grabs you, but it has to be a book that you just can't forget :) Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteand I look for a good cover in a book. If the cover isn't great i hardly look at a book at all.
Great giveaway! Love a great heroine, a love triangle, and a happy ending! :)
ReplyDeleteFirst its the cover of the book that attracts me. Then the characters, if I can get a feel for them.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the chance to win your giveaway.
To me the story is the most important part. It has to be fun to read.
ReplyDeleteI like there to be a strong paranormal element and a nice dose of romance. Sometimes I will even deal with a love triangle!
ReplyDeleteI look for a good story plot and just a little romance ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
Action, great story plot and, of course, the romance!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
I look for that great "What if?"
ReplyDeleteA good book to me is something that I can get LOST in, no matter what its about. The kind of book where you sit down to read for half hour and before you know it you've been reading for 3 hours. That is a good book.

I look for a great storyline, good character interaction, and hopefully a happy ending.
ReplyDeletea good plot!
ReplyDeleteconsistency in the plotline :) if things don;t add up they don't hold my attention! Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteThe two things I always look out for are good pacing and good character development.
ReplyDeleteI am just praying that there is no whining characters *puke*
ReplyDeleteI like interesting characters, creative plots and action!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
I tend to look for paranormal in books... A little romance with the paranormal dont hurt either. :-)
ReplyDeleteFor fiction I want a book that I can be totally absorbed in. I want to know the characters, and really care about them. I want to be involved in the story so that I have to keep reading to find out what's next. When the story is over, I want to have closure, but want more.

A good book to me is one that I can't put down. I need some romance or at least a very interesting plot, some action, and a little mystery. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteDepends on the genre. But for my favorite genre - horror it would have to be spooky, scary and a page turner.
