Okay guys, so when I saw the book trailer today I knew I had to share it with you. It's pretty darn amazing. Here is the trailer for the upcoming novel IMMORTAL RULES by Julie Kagawa

ReplyDelete...But I'm just gonna be nitpicky and point out that Sekemoto does NOT sound European, but the girl on the cover and the trailer looks of European descent. Ech.
Ellen Oh wrote something on pretty white girls on YA books. I guess the same goes for promotional material.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Her name clearly sounds like it could be Japanese and yet she doesn't look Asian at all. Stuff like that kind of annoys me. It makes me wonder what people are thinking when they're making these covers, or if they read the summary at all.
DeleteAt first I thought she just looked like that because she was a vampire and it could be anyone. In the end I usually base how I envision a character by the description in the book. I'm sure kagawa describes her the way she's supposed to look so I'll be looking out for that. :)
so cant wait to read the book and the trailer is amazing, havent read from julie anything til now, but i would put my hands on this one
