COVER REVEAL: A Darkness Strange and Lovely!

I present to you the uber-amazing beautiful cover of A Darkness Strange and Lovely by Susan Dennard

Following an all-out battle with the walking Dead, the Spirit Hunters have fled Philadelphia, leaving Eleanor alone to cope with the devastating aftermath. But there’s more trouble ahead—the evil necromancer Marcus has returned, and his diabolical advances have Eleanor escaping to Paris to seek the help of Joseph, Jie, and the infuriatingly handsome Daniel once again. When she arrives, however, she finds a whole new darkness lurking in this City of Light. As harrowing events unfold, Eleanor is forced to make a deadly decision that will mean life or death for everyone.

What I love most about Susan's covers are that they have originally hand made dresses. And, as a person who will be dress hunting for prom in a couple of months or so, I can't help but admire the handiwork on this dress. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL! I honestly can't stop looking at it. The background, the dress, the font, the placement of the words. It's a huge 10/10 for me. Kudos to the amazing design team at Harper Collins for another truly amazing cover! I can't wait to have this one on my bookshelf right next to Something Strange and Deadly.

  1. That is STUNNING!

I would like to see publishers move away from the pretty girl in pretty dresses format though. It's being done to death right now. You have the Lux series, the Keira Cass series...

    1. I would really like to move away from the pretty girl in dresses trend too. Although, I think this cover matches the book perfectly because it is steampunk = victorian era = girls in dresses. It's a book in which the protagonist really does wears this type of clothing and not something randomly placed in like in other YA novels. :)

  4. Truly gorgeous cover! There is nothing like a great cover to intrigue readers into picking up a book they might not otherwise notice, too. I don't know why covers are not more important to all publishers.
