The Reluctant Bachelorette Blog Tour: Interview with Rachael Anderson

October 1st – 28th
Rachael Renee Anderson is the author of “The Reluctant Bachelorette
Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it's up to the viewers--not her--to decide which bachelors stay or go...

Ezmirelda: Can you tell us a little about yourself and what“The Reluctant Bachelorette” is about? The title oozes a telling of an entertaining love story.
Rachael: I'm the mother of four and am pretty good at breaking up fights, or at least sending guilty parties to their rooms. I can't sing, don't dance, and despise tragedies. But I recently figured out how yeast works and can now make homemade bread which I am really good at eating. The Reluctant Bachelorette is my fourth published novel about a girl is unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town's charity event and then finds out that an old teenage crush is one of the bachelors. She isn't happy about either.
Ezmirelda: How do your ideas for a novel come to you? Is it all at once or do you just have a particular scene in mind and it just sort of branches off from there?
Rachael: It depends. Every story is different. This one stemmed from an internet spin-off version of ABC's The Bachelor, and from there I came up with the idea. Others start as a scene, a setting, or a certain career. Right now, I have this hilarious scene in my mind to write a story around, but I can't for the life of me figure out what that story entails. So it just sits there, waiting. Hopefully something will come soon.
Ezmirelda: Which character in your novel did you enjoy writing the most?
Rachael: Jessa. I loved her no-nonsense, won't take no for an answer personality. Deep underneath she has a heart of gold, but her outer shell is pretty thick. And fun.
Ezmirelda: What has been your favorite author moment for“The Reluctant Bachelorette” where you felt particularly proud of what you’ve written?
Rachael: Right now, actually. I worked incredibly hard on this book and the reviews so far have been better than I ever expected. A massive thanks to all those who have posted kind words! I am so incredibly grateful for them.
Ezmirelda: What are you planning to write next?
Rachael: A Christmas novella (that I'm mostly done with) for a compilation book with authors Jolene Perry and Kaylee Baldwin called All I Want. Three love stories. Three couples. One holiday. Should be a fun book!
Thanks for stopping by today Rachael! I really enjoyed reading your responses. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us in your future works.
