Mockingjay-Fever!

I, among many other people, am excited for the release of Mockingjay tomorrow on the 24th. I have been a big fan since it first came out with The Hunger Games, and was even more enthralled about the series after reading Catching Fire. After all the cliffhangerism in Catching Fire it’s kind of hard not to want to read it as soon as I possibly can!

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

So, any ideas/guesses of what you think is going to happen next???

  1. Eeep!!! I cannot wait and I cannot even imagine what's coming...

I'm also wondering if I'll be able to get a copy tomorrow at my local BAM. This area tends to be a bit... behind on stuff. We'll see--SO exciting! ;o)

  2. My closest B&N is always behind on stuff--which is why I call to make sure they have what I want in stock before hand. ;)

  3. I can't wait either! I preordered a copy from my local bookstore a while ago, so I'll go there as early as I can tomorrow to pick it up.

I'm so jealous of the places that have midnight release parties. I remember the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows midnight release party. It was very fun, standing in line at Barnes and Noble with all the other HP nerd and getting our copies of the book. I remember trying to read the first chapter in the car, but it was too dark out. :P I stayed up until around 1 or 2 in the morning every night for two days to read it. :)

The next couple days are going to be filled with intense reading.

  4. I don't think the one near me is having a release party for Mockingjkay--but they had a HUGE one for Breaking Dawn.

I went to the one for HP's release too. It was fun, and everyone was so excited. You could practically feel the tension in the air. The line was like a mile long. :)

Definitely. I even saw one of the B&N employees rereading HP & the Half Blood Prince. Or maybe it was his first time reading it. He had a little less than half to go, and I wonder if he finished it. :P

  6. I'm excited to see! I read the first two in June and it is a great series thus far. There is a YouTube of Collins reading the first chapter, and it definitely sounds promising! Enjoy!
